VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $70,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Sharing Life VITA Volunteers are IRS-certified and provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.
Who is eligible?
- VITA/TCE programs offer free basic tax preparations to people who generally make $70,000 or less!
What to bring?
- Picture ID (such as a valid driver license) for you and your partner
- Documentations of income (W-2, 1099,1098,1095) from all employers
- Documentation of expenses paid
- Social security cards or ITIN letters for all persons on your tax return
- Last year’s tax return
- Check with bank account & routing number (for direct deposit)
