Sharing Life exists to ‘Demonstrate Compassion’. Underlying that purpose are the programs and services that we offer. From food to utility assistance to educational programs, we strive to meet all of our client’s needs. One of our goals is to be a change agent in their lives by encouraging them to improve themselves in every way possible in hopes of a more positive future.
We are currently provide financial assistance to residents in need in the following zip codes in Mesquite, Garland, Sunnyvale, Rowlett, Rockwall, and Forney areas: 75032, 75043, 75087, 75088, 75089, 75126, 75149, 75150, 75159, 75180, 75181, 75182, 75189, 75217, 75218, 75227, 75228, and 75253. FOOD PANTRY
One of our foundational services is a full-service food pantry. In 2016, we became a HUB for the North Texas Food Bank which allows us to offer food quicker and at a more affordable cost to smaller pantries through our Community Distribution Partnerships (CDPs). Our food options include our indoor pantry and our online ePantry.
EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Our emergency financial assistance includes utilities, rent, and mortgage payments. Keeping the lights on, water running, and a roof over your head is essential. We want to make sure that, when placed in a tough position, you have the assistance that you and your family need.
NON-FOOD ESSENTIALS
Non-food essentials are too often forgotten about. These items include clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, diapers, formula, medical equipment, linens, and kitchenware. We receive donations daily for these items and they are available to our clients at no cost.
FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT CENTER
Our Financial Empowerment Center plays such a crucial role in serving Sharing Life clients. The goal of our FEC is to provide a better future for you and your family. These services include educational programs, interview skills, tax preparation, credit/financial classes, job placement, and GED testing.
W.A.R.M
Our WARM program (Weather Activated Relief for Mesquite) provides temporary shelter during extreme weather conditions. In addition to our WARM program, we also work year-round to provide a temporary hotel stay and assistance in finding permanent housing for our unsheltered neighbors.
SEASONAL PROGRAMS
Along with the programs and services we offer daily, we also have holiday programs that help us reach our neighbors at some of the most special times of the year. These include our Back-to-School Faire (in partnership with Mesquite ISD), Thanksgiving baskets, and our annual Christmas Faire.
